Gayatribala Panda (b.1977), Odia poet, journalist and literary magazine editor, has published seven collections of poems which include - Ahata Pratisruti, Aspasta Ishwar, Anayatta, Gaan, Jetiki dishuchi akasha, Akhi nain kana nain and Dhoop ko Rang (her selected Odia poems translated into Hindi ). The anguish of a woman, social injustices and inequalities are the dominant themes of her poetry. She worked as a journalist for the leading Odia newspaper ‘Sambad’ for a few years before starting, six years ago, ANYAA, a widely acclaimed literary quarterly, which she edits and publishes. She is a Freelance journalist too. She is Central Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar winner for 2011. Among her several other honours and awards are State Youth Award for Poetry:-1999-2000, Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award-2011 and Utkal Sahitya Samaj Yuva Kabi Samman-2010. She has participated in SAARC Young Writers Meet-2008 and Commonwealth Writers Meet-2010. She has also participated and read poems in various literature festivals in India. She is a Gold medalist of Utkal University in Master’s degree in Library & Information Science. Public Relation Society of India too gave her a Gold medal for securing top position in Journalism & Mass Communication. As a poet she has been invited to literary conferences and festivals in various parts of India. Her work has been translated into several languages.
